CELEBRATING 1 YEAR OF PUBLICATION #DIFFERENTISGOOD #CHALLENGETHENORM

On February 28th 2021, I took to Instagram to celebrate 1 year of publication for “Why can’t you just be a normal girl?”. I wanted to use the day to celebrate other people’s differences and the ways in which they show up in the world – unconventionally. I asked my followers to share pictures of themselves challenging social/gender norms/their differences/pictures with the book, using the hashtag ‘different is good’ and ‘challenge the norm’.

It was incredible to see so many different people celebrating themselves and their differences, particularly women in sport. The day was filled with courageous and inspiring humans, owning and enjoying who they are. Thank you to all who took part and a special mention to Kenilworth Women’s Rugby team for all their support with the day and the book.
